Titanopsis seedlings update

My first experience growing non-lithops Mesembs from seed was growing Delosperma and Frithia. I don't have much room here but just couldn't resist sowing some more. Looks like I'll be posting a lot of baby pictures, bear with me. :) Here are the young Titanopsis calcarea seedlings from before (own seeds). It's fun watching them - so tiny and already all the cute warts are visible. 

At the moment T. primosii is germinating, more pics soon.

Neohenricia's tiny flowers coming up

Only several sunny days and it's mostly cold and dark again. Good thing Neohenricia sibbettii doesn't need sunlight to open its flowers. I've counted 5 flower buds so far, most of them growing out of the parts that went "overboard". I'll be checking on them at night. The pot is definitely too small. If I had more room I'd put the plant in a large but shallow container and let it grow in all directions. A large Neohenricia carpet must look really pretty.

I'll continue the introductions :) The new guys are the lovely L. dinteri C206 from Cono's Paradise nursery (german), L. lesliei v. hornii C015 from Rare Plants nursery (czech) and some surprisingly well-grown L. schwantesii from a local hardware store.

seedlings update

Since I've been documeting this kind of thing before here's a new report on the seedlings from 2010 and 2011. The conclusion so far is that it isn't a good idea to sow in summer. Depends on the summer, of course. I read about it but now I can tell from experience. The one year old seedlings are doing much better than those I sowed during the very hot April or in summer. That's why the next bunch will probably follow in January. But now to the report. :) You can tell how C382 bromfieldii v. glaudinae (sown 29.10.2010) have grown since August . The largest are about to change their leaves for the 3rd time. The rest of them have just done it for the 2nd time, while the one on top of the photo is taking its time. Same pot, same conditions, different outcome. Lithops are funny like that. Next to the C141 lesliei ssp. lesliei v. mariae (sown 23.10.2010), which are getting their 3rd pair of leaves.
